4000 Series Model Coding

Even with the advanced capabilities of the X-Sight 4000 Series Extensometer, there are scenarios where the viewing area might still be too limited for certain tests. In such cases, multiple extensometers can be connected together in various modes to expand the field of view and enhance measurement precision. This flexibility allows users to tailor their setup to specific testing requirements.

  • Single Mode: The most common setup. Multiple single cameras can be used simultaneously.

  • Joined Mode: Incorporates identical Fields of View (FoV), enabling smooth movement of a point across cameras.

  • Dual FoV Mode: An uncommon setup characterized by varying resolutions.

  • Separated FoV Mode: This mode is designed for long specimens with relatively small extensions or deformations.

Series 4000 Optical Extensometer

The X-Sight 4000 series video extensometers (VE) offers streamlined efficiency with its single camera setup, perfect for standard tests like tensile, compression, and flexural tests.

The X-Sight 4000 series provides a larger illuminated area than X-Sight 2000 series. This makes it a better choice for longer or high-elongating specimens.

Features

All-in-one box extensometer

Ideal for general tensile tests

For up to 500 mm measuring area

Stackable for joined fields of view

Series 4000-3D Optical Extensometer

The X-Sight 4000-3D Series is a universal stereoscopic video extensometer (3DVE) equipped with two cameras to capture spatial movements and deformations. Its 3D capability ensures resilience to errors caused by out-of-plane movements, enhancing accuracy.

The 3DVE provides multiple measurements simultaneously, allowing for data collection at different positions or with various gauge lengths. It measures strain, total length, delta length, angle, and more, making it ideal for comprehensive material testing, sophisticated research and quality control that requires 3D data analysis.

Features

All-in-one box extensometer

Ideal for general tensile tests

3D Capabilities

Resilient to out-of-plane error

The X-Sight 4000-3D typically includes the Axial and 3DPL software modules.
